Denial have added Peter "ptr" Gurney to their roster for the upcoming IEM Sydney open qualifier.
The news comes after the South African side joined Denial's ranks without AWPer Dimitri "Detrony" Hadjipaschali, who chose to stay with Bravado, the organisation led by his brother, Andreas "cent" Hadjipaschali.
Formerly of CLG, NRG and compLexity, ptr is currently plying his trade for ESEA MDL side Bad News Bears, who have a 2-1 record in the league after beating Fragging for Andy and Singularity, and losing to Stay Frosty.
According to Dust2.us, Denial are still assessing their options, with eyes set on players from Europe, North America & South Africa.
It is still unclear if ptr will be a long-term stand-in or merely one for the first IEM Sydney open qualifier, kicking off Wednesday at 00:00 and with two spots in the closed bracket up for grabs.
Denial's roster for the first IEM Sydney open qualifier will be:
Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek
Rhys "Fadey" Armstrong
Ruan "ELUSIVE" van Wyk
Johnny "JT" Theodosiou
Peter "ptr" Gurney (stand-in)
Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen (coach)
